Moss Venice doubled tour bookings without ads after rebuilding its website with AI
Moss, a coworking, wellness, and events space in Venice Beach, California, doubled its weekly tour bookings with no ads running after its general manager, Elyse, rebuilt the Moss website herself with AI. Elyse learned the method in Eric's Build Your Website for AI Visibility course. Between July and September 2026, the Moss site audit score rose from 37 to 71 out of 100.

What is Moss?
Moss is a coworking, wellness, and events space on Electric Avenue in Venice Beach, California. Moss members work, meet, and recover in one place, with an infrared sauna, cold plunge, red light therapy, a meditation room, and a recording studio. Savannah opened Moss in 2024. By spring 2026, Moss had more than 150 members, a team of about eight, a 4.9-star Google rating, and 300 events behind it. People found Moss through word of mouth, Google, and, increasingly, ChatGPT.
What was wrong with the Moss website before the rebuild?
The Moss website gave Google and AI tools almost nothing to read. The July 2026 audit scored the site 37 out of 100 and called it "Poor, but cheaply fixable." The homepage title was "moss | home for your ideas," which did not say "coworking" or "Venice." Six of the site's 16 pages were duplicate pages left live. The phone number and hours appeared only inside a chatbot script Google could not read. The membership page showed two different price tables and still mentioned a launch party from 2023. From the front, the site looked finished.
What search demand was Moss missing?
The missed opportunity was measurable. The exact search "coworking space venice ca" drew about 90 searches a month, and Moss ranked fifth for it. The July audit also found more than 900 monthly Los Angeles-area searches across sauna and cold-plunge terms. Moss offered both a sauna and a cold plunge but did not appear for any of those searches. When AI tools described Moss, they pieced the answer together from thin Moss pages and third-party sources such as Yelp.
Who rebuilt the Moss website?
Elyse, the general manager of Moss, rebuilt the Moss website herself. Elyse has worked at Moss for two and a half years. Before the summer of 2026, nobody on the Moss staff could make updates to the website. Elyse had taken web design classes before but had never used Claude. In July 2026, Elyse joined three live sessions of Eric's Build Your Website for AI Visibility course, held at Moss, to answer one question: could AI make building and maintaining the site faster or easier? "I was curious, but I had no real expectations," Elyse said.
How did Elyse use the audit to fix the site?
Elyse used the same loop for every fix. The course gave Elyse the site audit as a reusable Claude skill, a saved set of instructions she could run whenever she wanted to check the site again. Elyse ran the audit, gave the findings to Claude, worked through the changes, and ran the audit again. Each pass showed her what to fix next. Eric also taught Elyse to use a design skill, which let her design the site and rebuild each page herself. Eric describes his role this way: "I didn't touch a thing. I taught the method and answered questions as they came up."
What were the results of the Moss website rebuild?
On September 9, 2026, the rebuilt Moss site scored 71 on the same audit rubric that scored it 37 in July. Moss ranked first on Google for "coworking space venice beach." Savannah, the owner of Moss, reported that weekly tour bookings doubled between spring 2026 and September 2026, with no ads running. The rebuilt site now gives Google and AI tools a clear, first-party source for the Moss location, services, and pricing.
| Measure | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly tour bookings | Baseline | 2x, with no ads |
| ChatGPT citation | None | Cited |
| Google rank: "coworking Venice Beach" | About 5th | 1st |
| Google rank: "wellness coworking Los Angeles" | Not in the results | 1st |
| Site audit score (out of 100) | 37 | 71 |
How long did the Moss website rebuild take?
Elyse rebuilt the Moss website between July and September 2026. Elyse ran the first audit in the third class of the course in July 2026, when the site scored 37. The rebuilt site scored 71 on September 9, 2026. Eric did not build any part of the site; Elyse made every change herself.
What does Elyse do with AI at Moss now?
Elyse now runs the Moss website and the systems around it without outside help. Elyse can update the site, run the audit again, and work through the next set of findings herself. Elyse is also rebuilding the Moss intake forms with Claude and Supabase to replace Typeform, and uses Claude to add reporting that the Moss booking platform and Pipedrive do not provide. "Claude is the glue between our booking system, Pipedrive, and the forms now. It has completely changed how much I get done in a day. I never would have explored any of this on my own. The classes were the entry point," Elyse said.
How can another business do what Moss did?
Elyse learned the method in Build Your Website for AI Visibility, a live course by Eric of three classes over two weeks, at https://maven.com/ericgrows/build-your-website-for-ai-visibility. In the course, a business owner audits their own site, fixes what the audit finds with Claude, and keeps the audit as a skill to run again. The same classes are free on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwqVfGF-1m8&list=PLXNtz_KUVP4c. Any business can run the same audit Moss ran, free, at https://ericgrows.com/audit.
Who is Eric?
Eric is the founder of Eric Grows Companies. Eric was a Senior Manager of Strategy and Operations at Meta, holds an MBA and a CPA, studied philosophy at the University of Michigan, and has never written a line of code. Eric runs three live companies himself with AI: StratEngine AI, SCUBAzen, and Venice Threads Co. Eric teaches non-technical business owners the same skill through a free course on YouTube.
